I'll miss you October,for you brightend my days
with your sweet touch of Autumn in so many ways.
I'll miss the reds, yellows, pinks and gold
And all the splendor of things that you hold.
I'll miss the pictures you paint with the leaves...
& that sweet smell of fall in each autumn breeze..
I'll miss the bright skys and the sight of it all
I'll miss all the reasons,that you are called fall....
so, Untill the time , when we meet again,
i bid you goodbye, i'll miss you my friend..

Leaves



Last year i had a yard of trees
with lots and lots of leaves
the city said don't burn them
compost and bag them please.
so i raked and baged up 40 bags
and i built a compost bin
i piled the leaves up six foot high
till i couldn't put more in
i put mulch around my flowers
my shrubs and roses too
Hey, if you need mulch just let me know
i'll rake you a bag or two.
one thing is for certian
i've had my fill of leaves
by autum of next year there'll be
one less yard of trees.

This big old spider,
thinks he's moving in
calling my back porch,
a wall for his den
his web is all ready,
he waits patiently.
But he doesn't scare
or intimidate me....
Cause i'm telling Hubby,
to get out the spray
before that old spider
moves in all the way...
Spiders are creepy
and really quite sneeky
they think it's "their" house i live in.
to find them is freaky
and their bite isn't tweeky
they'll move in every one of their kin...
so there's no way Jose
that this spider can stay
he's gonna be food for the ants by days end.
they will haul him away
food for a cold winter day....
and I won't have to worry about him, Amen.

I felt Autumn in the wind and thought
I'd journy down a road once more...
and this one seemed to me to be
Saying please come through my door...

I stoped to rest by a pond
it was such a peaceful day
and listend to the chatter of
all Nature had to say....

"I'm sheding my leaves"
said the bush to the tree...
"My leaves will be bright red
just wait and you'll see"
"My leaves will be golden"
said the tall tree with pride...
""Too soon I'll stand Naked
i'll have nothing to hide"..
"you'll fertile our soil"
said the flowers below
"Your leaves will mulch us
and protect us from snow"

"I'll be back in the spring"
said the Robin with glee
to the squirrel's who were busy
collecting nuts from a tree...
"I'll soon be frozen"
said the pond to them all
"it will be months and months"
"until the spring thaw"
" And I'll miss all of you
coming here for a drink"
( Listening to Nature
sure made me think)...
I watched the birds
as they gathered up seeds
and knew that one purpose
of fall was those weeds..
i watched the squirrel's
waiting for nuts to fall,
and knew that this season
was to harvest it all......
Yes, winter will follow
But Nature needs Her rest,
through spring and summer
she gave us her best..

Oh September,
how you can tease
Summer lingers,
in each Autumn breeze
you bring forth October,
to dress the trees
with Scarlet, brown
and golden leaves
your Splendor, September
in my heart will linger
through Autumn, through winter
I shall remember
September
