I wish that it could always stay
a warm and sunny summers day
yet i could not give up spring
the birth of life for everything...
and if i were to give up fall
I'd lose the beauty of it all.
I fear if not for winters touch
the others would not meen so much.
winter, summer,spring and fall
what would life be without them all???
it takes all four of them to see
we can't touch time, life's Golden key....

" It's Time For School To Start!!!"

"Summer is leaving" the little one said
"School will be starting" and I'll be early to bed"
I watched as he held his head in his hands
and I knew one so small, seldom understands...

" yes, summer is fading," I said with a smile
"but all seasons last, just a little while"
"School wil be fun, just wait and see
and You can stay up late on weekends with me"

"But what about winter, Grandma?" he cried
" I cann't ride my bike,when there's snow outside"
"it will be all cold and I really don't like
staying inside and parking my bike"...

"But there will be snowmen & snow forts to make"
I said with a grin,as i watched his head shake...
"In winter what we ride isn't bikes it's a sled
and we have the fastest one out in the shed...."

As he went back outside to play on his bike
I thought about when, i was a small tyke...
I too loved summer and dreaded the day
when summer was over and i couldn't play...

But I know he loves snowmen, and school once begun...
He'll soon be sleigh riding, and having more fun,
Instead of rocks he'll be throwing snowballs
and He'll love watching the snow when it falls...

He'll be over on weekends, staying up late as he can
And I'll spoil him rotten, (he's my little man.)
but there is one thing, that makes me feel sad
he'll grow up too quickly, just like his dad.

A CHANGE OF SEASONS...

I've noticed some things, ( just little things)
it's more like a feeling, or sound.
The leaves are still green ( it's the same color sceme)
but Summer is losing her ground....
Some people get sad, upset and mad
knowing summer is on it's way down
but i love the splendor of late September
with the touch of Autumn around....
there's something about fall, that surpasses it all
it's the best of the 4 seasons i've found
it smells so fine,(& the weathers divine)
Autumn has such a awsome sound.....
but like others i know, i'll love autumns show
and swear it too quickly went down...
Cause once winter hits, i'll be throwing fits
wishing summer would come back around...

Last night the rain cooled things off
enough for a little walk today.....
I found this road and think i heard
it say, hey, come this way....



As i walked along i noticed that
Farms lay scatterd everywhere...
I felt the peace and quiet but
I saw no people there.....

I saw horses grazing in
a field beyond some trees....
and I sat & thought about how they
will look through Autumn Leaves


I thought about our troubled world
and asked of God to hear My prayer
and lead us down a path to peace
A road that we all can share....

I prayed He'd listen to our hearts
and answer every paryer to Him...
I asked in faith for Him to show
where Peace On Earth has been....

I thought of all the Soldiers and
this war that we've all known....
and asked The Lord to send a fleet
of Angels to bring our Soldiers home....

I felt a warm and pleasent breeze
when I rose and said Amen
& I did not feel i was alone
I felt I was with Him.....



I found a little road that was
overgrown with flowers but i found
this little road would lead me home
it would bring me back around.....



I saw anouther horse that seemed
to be waiting there for me....
and noticed that the barn was grand
old but standing faithfully...

I knew it was getting later so
I went on about my way once more
and thought about this road i found
as if time had opend up a door.....
I saw a pretty barn that sat
along this road leading me to home
and in the fence beside it was
a horse standing all alone...

I saw a road I reconised and knew
i'd soon be safely home again,
and asked the Lord to help me write
a poem for my friends ...Amen
