 Question...
Back to Full Blog

if your making a hot dog at the store and drop it and trow it away and you don't pay for it is that stealing?
i was at a store today on the freeway...it said hotdogs 2 for 2 dollars...i was making a hot dog and couldn't get the bun open..it wouldn't open. and i didn't know where to put them thong things..so i was trying to hold them too..and the hotdog dropped i tried to catch it but the thongs dropped too. everyone, including hubby who was paying for gas, looked at me and i picked it up and walked around to the trash can & threw it all away and went out to the truck.
we was going down the road and hubby said "did you pay for that hotdog ?"..i said no. i threw it away. he said i'm in a truck with a company name on it and you stold a hot dog..you just stold a hotdog. I said i didn't steal it. it is still there. i threw it in the trash can. he made me nervous all day that they might call work and say someone from that company stold a hot dog. and that he will get into trouble because of me.He made me a nervous wreck.
is throwing a hotdog away stealing? i meen it was the buns fault. how do they know if a bug didn't jump out at me...
anyways..was i stealing?

River Rat:

Yep, they are looking for you. There is an APB out for your arrest. Conviction can lead to 20 years behind bars. But your husband can visit you in prison.

River,
They can't convict you on your heart, because you wouldn't steal.
I wouldn't worry about it much longer.
You are golden girlie.

Hey River, I think the bun and the tongs were in on it together! It's a conspiracy girl!
You were set up, and hubby coulda drove back and payed for the dog, but nooooo, he held ya' hostage! So they're probably out alookin' for stale bun, slippery tongs, and a finger-pointin' hubby as we speak! I think your safe honey!
Be Blessed,
PJ

Hopefully, I'll get to get caught up over here today, RR. I've missed your photos. and....I hate those buns! They always tear aprt or won't open at all. I may have told the clerk what I had done to see what he said. But no...you did NOT steal a hotdog. It stayed on their property!

I think PJ has it figured out...i like her version..i WAS held hostage, in a truck for 6 hours after it happened..

Biggie...i thought of telling them. but it was one of them huge truck stiops where truckers go & take showers etc..a big one..and it was real busy...so i just ditched it all and left..Hubby said i looked at every one really mean. So, guess that added to His stress.

River, you are precious!!! No! No! You are NOT guilty...The darn ol bun was not sliced properly, therefore leading you to try to pry it open, while holding the tongs, and the hot dog...

Lands what does that store think you are..... a magician?

Someone is going to come in that store, and get angry at the bun, and throw the whole thing, tongs, bun and hotdog, at the store clerk....
Then, they'll really have something to complain about.....

Colo..would I be the the bun bandit or the hotdog hustler? Wonder if i could sue them for my nerves?
Heidi you make a great point...I felt like throwing it at the woman looking at me..she looked so upity and snooty.she was up higher than me in her little space looking down upon me, taking peoples money one after the other.....i really did think of it. But, hey, hubby was freaked out enough.

You sound like me. Things like that really bother me. If you continue to be worried about it, the best thing to do is get their address, write a note about what happened and send the money you think the hot dog and bun cost, anonymously. That way, you have a clear conscience. That just shows you what a kind heart you have, but having a husband who really lays a guilt trip on you doesn't help the situation any. Smile and have a wonderful weekend. Karen

PS-Love the photos and your poetry. Both are brilliant!
